We are seeking someone with a passion for innovation and technology, who possesses experience with mechanical manufacturing and electromechanical design.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee automated manufacturing methods for motor, battery, wire-harness, charging systems, and other electro-mechanical aircraft components
  • CAD design of test equipment, jigs, and fixtures
  • Assist with brushless DC motor design, optimization and testing
  • Integration of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems
  • Thermal and mechanical modeling and testing of electric propulsion systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering
  • Keen eye for detail, experience with quality control and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA preferred)
  • Proficiency in 2D documentation and GD&T
  • Experience in prototype manufacturing in a professional environment
  • Experience in rigorous scientific methods for testing and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrate hands-on design, build, and test experience through student teams, co-op, and/or personal projects

Optional Qualifications

  • Mechatronics-related experience with machine design, testing, and prototyping
  • Manufacturing background in a factory setting
  • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing automation, production manufacturing, product lifecycle management, CNC machining, and 3D Printing
  • Interest in RC planes, quadcopters, and/or kit plane construction
  • Pilot License
